GENE KNAUB CLAIMED HIS SECOND WIN IN THREE LINCOLN RACES

On a night when passing was at a premium, Gene Knaub came from third starting spot to catch race-long leader Bobby Beard on the 14th lap, then raced side-by-side with the Seymore #81S before making a low move in turns three and four to make the pass on lap 17.

Beard settled for second, with Travis Mease, Charlie Scheaffer, and Randy Christine, Jr. crossing third through fifth. Sixth through tenth were Grant Adams, Bernie Beard, Cam Zeigler, Chase Billet, and Steve Weikel.

Heats for the 29 "358" Late Models were won by Zeigler, John Baker, and Christine, with Chase Billet winning the consolation.

KNAUB CLAIMS LATE MODEL VICTORY AT SSP ON SATURDAY NIGHT

Newberrytown, PA (April 23, 2011) – On Saturday night, April 23, Dover’s Gene Knaub won the 25-lap Late Model feature at the Susquehanna Speedway Park.

In Late Model action, polesitter Jason Rochelle and Randy Christine Jr. brought the field to the green with Rochelle grabbing the early lead after two complete restarts. The first caution of the race saw Chase Billet rolling over on his roof and escaped uninjured after a multi-car accident. When racing finally resumed, Gene Knaub took the lead from Rochelle on the third circuit. Rochelle continued to follow Knaub but was unable to regain the lead. At the end, Knaub claimed his first SSP victory of the year followed by Rochelle and Christine. Justin Ehrhart and Carl Billet rounded out the top five. D.J. Mease and his brother Travis finished sixth and seventh respectively, followed by Chaz Walls, Chris Knopp and Bob Minnich rounding out the top ten. Alex Updegraff, Knaub and Christine

KNAUB PICKS UP THE WIN AT LINCOLN ON SATURDAY NIGHT

Dover’s Gene Knaub opened up the 358 late model season in a familiar place-in victory lane. Starting in the eighth spot, the two-time defending 358 late model track champion moved through the field in quick fashion taking the lead from Steve Weikel on lap six. Knaub then held on during the caution-filled event to score the win over Weikel, Bernie Beard, Grant Adams, Craig Wagaman, Chase Billet, Bruce Kane, Steve Clabaugh, Charlie Schaffer and Travis Mease. Heats for the 22 “358” Late Models were won by Grant Adams, Jamie Lathroum and Charlie Schaffer.
